Complete your Bachelor's degree in Nursing and advance your career

With nursing becoming one of the fastest growing healthcare professions in almost every US state, Kentucky is one of the leading states in terms of its educational offerings in the field of nursing. To cater to the growing demand for nurses in health facilities throughout the state, many Kentucky state colleges have started offering Associates degrees in nursing. After finishing the course and passing the NCLEX-RN licensing exam, an individual can start practicing at different health facilities as a Registered Nurse (RN).

The Associates degree in nursing is best for those who cannot afford the four-year Bachelors program. The Associates degree provides them a key to enter into the field, and afterwards they can always return to school via an RN to BSN degree completion program. The BSN holds the key to professional growth within the nursing field and enables its recipients to apply for managerial positions in the nursing departments of different health institutions. With a BSN, nurses can also achieve higher degrees such as a Masters and/or Doctorate in nursing.

In Kentucky, community colleges such as Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, Ashland Community and Technical College, Henderson Community College and Hopkinsville Community College offer full-fledged RN programs. With the rising demand for nursing education, a number of public and private universities throughout Kentucky have started offering nursing courses as well. These include the Kentucky State University and Kentucky Christian University.

For most registered nurses, the idea behind getting an Associates degree is to finish their Bachelors alongside their practice. Since many RN programs cover some of the same basic material that is required for a BSN degree, nurses will already be familiar with a lot of the subject matter. Additionally, the hands-on clinical practice should come as no surprise to currently licensed registered nurses since they are use to experiencing this in the course of their everyday work routines.
