Complete your Bachelor's degree in Nursing and advance your career

The basic objective of RN to BSN nursing programs is to give registered nurses who entered their career through an Associate’s degree or diploma program an opportunity to increase their level of education to a Bachelor’s degree. There are many colleges in Maryland that offer the courses, with some offering online options that cater for even international students. Once you complete the course, you graduate with a BSN (Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing) degree. Before you can enroll for the Maryland RN to BSN programs, there are some minimum qualifications that you must meet, with some being institution-specific. Here are some of the general requirements…

To be eligible to enroll in an RN-BSN program, you should have a clean criminal record. Your academic record should reflect a GPA of 3.0 or above. You should be currently licensed as a registered nurse. You should be proficient in both written and spoken English. You must meet any additional requirements of the academic institution to which you are applying.

There are also state requirements that each candidate must meet. In Maryland, you need a copy of your compact state license. For convenience purposes, many of the institutions that offer RN to BSN programs also have part-time classes. This is mainly meant to cater to the practicing nurses who might not have the time to attend the full-time classroom lessons. The program curriculum has both the common subjects and some that depend on the institution that you are receiving training from. The common subjects include: Chemistry, Psychology, Microbiology, Physics, Anatomy, Nutrition, Physiology, Nursing Principles, Behavioral Science and the practical aspect of nursing.

Once you graduate with a BSN degree, you have the option of pursuing your studies further by enrolling in an MSN Program or continuing your career as a registered nurse. There are many different types of jobs that one can get after completing an RN to BSN program in Maryland. Salaries vary depending on type of degree/educational background, nursing experience, geographic location and the employer. However, the general salary bracket for registered nurses in Maryland ranges from $43,000 to $80,000.
